Lime Kiln Equipment

Vertical Lime Kiln for Lime Production

Vanore Mining supplies vertical lime kiln equipment for limestone calcination and quicklime production. In a mixed-feed shaft arrangement, prepared limestone and suitable solid fuel enter at the top, descend through the process zones and leave as lime through the lower discharge.

Mixed-Feed Shaft Equipment for Lime Production

A vertical lime kiln processes limestone in a descending material bed within a stationary shaft. In the mixed-feed arrangement, limestone and solid fuel are charged together. Preheating, calcination and cooling take place through the shaft, with lime removed at the bottom.

The equipment scope brings together top-feed distribution, the refractory-lined kiln body, process-air connections and controlled discharge. The material bed and gas path are coordinated for the mixed-feed shaft process.

Vertical Kiln Equipment Features

Top charging and distribution

The inlet arrangement introduces prepared limestone and fuel into the shaft. Material distribution across the bed affects the gas-flow and heating conditions below.

Refractory-lined shaft

The kiln body contains the process bed and separates the hot material from the structural shell. The shaft geometry is matched to the defined process duty.

Process-air connections

Air supply and kiln-gas extraction connect the shaft to the combustion and gas-handling system. They serve different duties from the solid-product outlet.

Controlled bottom discharge

The discharge arrangement removes cooled lime and regulates material descent. It connects the kiln with downstream conveying and storage.

Vertical Lime Kiln Applications and Configuration

Limestone calcination with solid-fuel charging

The mixed-feed arrangement combines prepared stone and a suitable lump fuel before charging. Feed size distribution, stone behavior, fuel properties and discharge influence bed movement and gas distribution. Limestone grading and fuel properties form the basis for the kiln configuration.

Quicklime production and downstream handling

The calcined solid product is quicklime. Cooling within the lower shaft precedes discharge and transfer to storage or further processing. Where hydrated lime is required, quicklime passes to a separate hydration stage. The downstream equipment follows the intended lime product and handling requirements.

Shaft and rotary equipment scope

A vertical unit supports a stationary shaft and descending material bed. A lime rotary kiln moves material through a rotating shell and uses a different support, drive and thermal-system arrangement. Each design has its own model data, fuel arrangement and installation requirements.

Limestone and Fuel Interfaces

The process requires limestone suited to the bed geometry and calcination duty, together with compatible solid fuel in the mixed-feed arrangement. Stone chemistry, particle distribution, degradation during heating and fuel characteristics influence the resulting operation and product. Unrelated mineral feed and generic bulk solids are outside this defined duty.

Vertical Lime Kiln FAQ

How does a mixed-feed vertical lime kiln operate?

Prepared limestone and suitable solid fuel are charged at the top. The bed descends through heating, calcination and cooling zones, and quicklime is removed through the lower discharge.

How is lime output established for a shaft kiln?

Shaft volume describes the kiln geometry. Feed properties, fuel, heat transfer, bed movement and connected equipment are evaluated together to establish the lime-production duty.

What kiln arrangement is described here?

This page describes a mixed-feed shaft kiln, charged with prepared limestone and solid fuel. A twin-shaft regenerative kiln uses a different fuel, material and gas arrangement.

What equipment connects to the shaft kiln?

The line includes prepared-feed and fuel handling, top charging, process-air and gas-handling connections, and lime discharge, conveying and storage equipment according to the defined supply scope.
